Why I code

Firstly, I love making websites for friends and causes I care about. Also, user research, usability testing, and rapid agile development work best when we can test real, loFi programs with our users. InVision and Axure are great, but there is nothing quite like a working website or program for learning about user behavior and preference. In order to be able to test design theories, and in an effort to understand what my dev counterparts are truly doing, I’ve learned to code.

Northwestern Boot Camp: MERN Stack

In a 6 month boot camp, taught by Northwestern University, I sharpened my frontend skills and learned some backend JS based code. I believe that solidly understanding client-server relationships makes our work as designers better and our collaborations with our teams much more effective.
